Policies and Conditions

Eligibility

Participants must be current Brown students (undergraduate, graduate, or RUE), faculty, or staff.  All participants must purchase at least one produce share.

Brown Market Shares is only open to current Brown students, faculty and staff. Market Shares is NOT open to alumni or members of the local community who do not meet one the aforementioned eligibility requirements, as the mission of Market Shares is specific to Brown's campus and community and because we rely on university funding and resources to operate. There are countless other incredible CSAs in Rhode Island that we encourage former Brown students, faculty, and staff to join. These programs are listed on our Local Food Directory page and on Farm Fresh RI's website. If you would like to know more about this policy, email us at info@brownmarketshares.com.

RISD students, please note: As a Brown-affiliated program, Market Shares exists first to offer shares to Brown students, faculty, and staff. Any remaining spots are allotted to RISD students on a first-come, first-serve basis (in line with greater Brown/RISD cross-registration policies). Interested RISD students are encouraged sign up for a share here at any time. You will be notified only if we reach capacity and must move to a wait list; otherwise, the sign-up acts as a binding contract. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email us at info@brownmarketshares.com.
