Market Shares is open to all members of the College Hill community. This includes Brown and RISD students, faculty, and staff, as well as local residents and alumni. All participants must purchase at least one produce share. Although Market Shares was initially designed specifically for Brown’s campus, we believe in making fresh, local food accessible to as many people as possible and have expanded our program. Only in the case that we reach shareholder capacity will priority be given to current members of the Brown community. You will be notified if this happens and moved to a wait list. Otherwise, it is important to understand that the sign-up acts as a binding contract. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us at email@example.com.
Policies & Conditions
The deadline to sign up for a fall share was Wednesday, September 19th at 11:59 PM. The deadline to send in your payment or set up a payment plan for a fall share is Thursday, September 20th at 6:00 PM.
Due to the immense and rapid growth of our program, we are reaching our operational and purchasing capacities. Beginning in the spring 2017 season, we introduced a cap on our full cost shares. We will be accepting full cost shareholders on a first come, first served basis for the first 390 shares. If you have any questions or concerns please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you cannot pick up your share on a given week, you may arrange to have a friend pick it up for you.
However, we start breaking down Market Day at exactly 6 PM each week, and all food that has not picked up by then will be packed and donated by 6:30pm. You cannot pick up missed shares later and you cannot take extra produce the following week. You will still be responsible for paying for missed weeks.
You may cancel your produce and/or additional shares and receive a prorated refund until Saturday, September 29th at 11:59 PM. You may also add additional produce or supplementary shares during this period. After Saturday, September 29th at 11:59 PM, you will no longer receive a refund for cancelled produce and/or additional shares and you will still be responsible for paying for cancelled shares.
