The RI Food Bank needs your help to ensure that no family goes hungry this summer! During the warm summer months food donations decrease while the need for food assistance remains high. Families with children struggle to replace the free and reduced price lunches provided for children during the school year. Help the RI Food Bank network continue to assist the over 59,000 individuals that it serves on a monthly basis. The fifth-annual Eat Drink RI Festival is coming up! It will run from Thursday, April 28th to Sunday, May 1st at various locations in Providence. New Harvest Coffee Roasters and Sojourner House are teaming up to release special blend called Sojo Mojoe! Sojourner House was created by Brown alumnae, students and staff in 1976. Since then, it was worked to provide housing, education, and support to victims and survivors of domestic violence. This special blend will be released on April 28th in celebration of Sojourner House's 40th Anniversary, and a portion of each coffee purchase will benefit the organization. Sojourner House will also be holding a celebratory breakfast! It is on Thursday, April 28th from 8 - 10 am at the Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel. Tickets to the OysterFest get you a half-dozen locally sourced oysters from an array of RI-based growers; local micro-brewed beer, or glass of wine. Iced tea, coffee, and plenty of water will be on hand also. There will be live music, DJ, a shucking contest, food trucks along the Providence River boardwalk.
