RI COMMUNITY FOOD BANK SUMMER FOOD DRIVE 


The RI Food Bank needs your help to ensure that no family goes hungry this summer! During the warm summer months food donations decrease while the need for food assistance remains high. Families with children struggle to replace the free and reduced price lunches provided for children during the school year. Help the RI Food Bank network continue to assist the over 59,000 individuals that it serves on a monthly basis. Irrigation and Water Systems Workshop

The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Rhode Island (NOFA/RI) and the Young Farmer Network (YFN) of Southeastern New England are pleased to announce a Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training (CRAFT) workshop called “Irrigation and Water Systems”.

Eat Drink RI Festival

The fifth-annual Eat Drink RI Festival is coming up! It will run from Thursday, April 28th to Sunday, May 1st at various locations in Providence. The festival includes the Dinner by Dames on Thursday and the Truck Stop food truck celebration on Friday, benefiting the Sojourner House and the RI Food Bank. On Saturday, over 50 local producers includingNarragansett Creamery, Dave's Coffee, and Revival Brewing will gather at the RI Convention Center for an event filled with delicious tastings and demonstrations. Sojourner House Breakfast

New Harvest Coffee Roasters and Sojourner House are teaming up to release special blend called Sojo Mojoe! Sojourner House was created by Brown alumnae, students and staff in 1976. Since then, it was worked to provide housing, education, and support to victims and survivors of domestic violence. This special blend will be released on April 28th in celebration of Sojourner House's 40th Anniversary, and a portion of each coffee purchase will benefit the organization. Sojourner House will also be holding a celebratory breakfast! It is on Thursday, April 28th from 8 - 10 am at the Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel. They will be releasing Sojo Mojoe here, so you would get the first taste! Click here to buy tickets.

Ocean State Oyster Festival

Celebrate our aquaculture industry and fine food culture in Rhode Island! 

Tickets to the OysterFest get you a half-dozen locally sourced oysters from an array of RI-based growers; local micro-brewed beer, or glass of wine. Iced tea, coffee, and plenty of water will be on hand also. There will be live music, DJ, a shucking contest, food trucks along the Providence River boardwalk. 

Children under 12 FREE. This is a rain or shine event. 

10% of ticket sales will be donated to Save The Bay – Narragansett Bay's Explore the Bay youth program.
